Spoiler alert: To Cage a God has no god caging at all
In a quick summary this book was fine but it was confusing at times, had too many plots, and too many POVs for my taste. It also ends in a cliffhanger which I hate.
But what is this book about? There were 5 POVs in this book. Four of the POV characters are trying to take down the cartoonishly evil empress, one of the POVs is the empress' daughter who eventually wants to take her down too . The book shows different ways of rebelling against an evil empire, and some of the people are working together, others are actively working against the other people trying to rebel.
This book was a little boring at the start and it honestly didn't have my full attention until 60-70% into the book. The ending (sans the epilogue) was interesting but felt a little rushed since I had basically just started to get into the book. The epilogue was not for me because of the spoiler that I mentioned at the start of this review. I don't think I will read the next book in the series but I did enjoy that like 30% of the book so I don't regret not DNFing the book. Honestly, I don't know who would enjoy this book so I don't really recommend it.
TW: Acts of war, war crimes, child abuse, murder, torture, imprisonment, employee abuse.
