This novel seemed to have an inconsistent voice throughout. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m reading a translation but the tone and choice of words at times seemed to be at odds with the novel. The story itself presents a unique perspective but left much unsaid. The protagonist seemed aimless and lazy with no real purpose. If this is a coming of age novel, I think it missed the mark.
