Ao Haru Ride, Vol. 11 by Io Sakisaka
4.0
Right when I thought things were going to take a turn for the worse, it rights itself after marinating in some anxiety-inducing things. The realistic aspects of Futaba wracked with guilt over something she felt was really good and I appreciate how honest and righteous she is with her feelings especially towards Touma and their relationship. Kou is lowkey getting on my nerves, not in an annoying way, but in a way that pushes my heart into a corner and I have no choice but to look at him. It hurt to see him and Narumi have their long awaited talk because it's an official goodbye. It hurts to know that someone you've grown attached to (even if it reaches toxic bounds) wants to break ties with you. But it had to happen and I'm happy that it did. It gives them room to grow as people, away from each other. The little thing about Murao talking to Kominato's grandma and getting to know to who he is from her was so charming and just precious. I like how Murao is slowly giving Kominato a chance to win her heart; I love this! Everyone is trying to do their best and I'm living for it. Oh! Also I love how Touma didn't get angry with Futaba when she confessed what happened with Kou on the school trip. He acknowledges that he can't expect her to immediately stop have feelings for Kou and even understands that in a time when she's trying to get over Kou, he accepted being the person to be there while she does that in a romantic relationship. AND then they talked and decided together to be better, express their feelings betters, and communicate more. like what?? HEALTHY BOUNDARIES AND COMMUNCIATION IN A YOUNG RELATIONSHIP!?? UNHEARD OF!!!!!!!! anywayyy I'm so ready to see Futaba chew Kou out for being fucking assertive heheheehehheheheh
