This is so upsetting to me because I loved all of Haley Cass's other work. This is a relatively short novella and it's taken me a week to even get this far. I really wanted to push through this but I just can't. Maybe if this turns into an audiobook I will listen to it but I can't physically read this anymore. This feels like a rushed job and maybe it was. There was a lot of telling instead of showing in this story, and it's like a lot of the scenes were described and then focused on one scene for a long time like she didn't know how to get to that point. And while I did like the love interest, Mia, I didn't really like Ellie all that much.

I will definitely be picking up more from this author I just don't think this story is for me :(

I decided to try this again on audio before I read On The Same Page because it features some familiar characters. I still think the overall story was too rushed for what it is, but the last part did get really good and had some strong emotions. I still stand by everything I said in my original review but still glad I went back and gave this another chance.
