The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri
5.0
A story of tradegy and hope
The Beekeeper of Aleppo is a thought provoking novel. It provides the reader with a further insight into the lives of the displaced, the abandoned, the refugees. To leave your home because of war, conflict, persecution, fear and to embark on a journey faced palpable risk, uncertainty and the prospect of never returning is unthinkable. Yet millions had to. And still do. Christy Lefteri has crafted a novel that illustrates the human cost, the psychological damage such forced exodus causes many refugees. To reach a destination and find refuge is very often not the end of the journey. A superb book, sympathetic, genuine and heartfelt.
