The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center

2.0

I wanted to like this book, but it promised more than what it delivered. The love story started out okay, but when things fall apart the guy wasn't what I wanted him to be. The "keeping my distance while making your life easier" read like a modern day Darcy... And still I didn't like it. The protagonist's storyline and her attitude towards her sister and the situation with her father was ugly and a bit out of place and overall I expected this book to be something it turned out not to be. I must admit I was hooked and listened to it pretty much non-stop until it was done... But once it finished it left me with a bitter aftertaste. I forgot to review it right after listening and now it's been a couple of weeks and I didn't remember the plot nor how I felt about the book for a while until I started reviewing it... Which kind of means it wasn't all that memorable to begin with.
I'll probably give the author a chance again in the future with new releases because the writing did hook me, maybe I just need a different kind of story.
