ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My first time reading something set in WH40k. I've long had a mere glancing knowledge of the setting, of Space Marines, the God Emperor of Mankind, the Chaos gods and all the beautiful grim-dark insanity that the setting is so well known for. But the lore is vast and nigh limitless. I had no idea where to start. I'm glad I listened to my buddies' advice and started here. Xenos is a very good introduction to everything 40k. A perfect gateway drug that gives you a glimpse of many things in the setting and letting you read up on them later on.

The book itself has a very good, tightly packed plot filled with suspense, intrigue, amazing, breathtaking beauty, mind bending insanity and good protagonists who don't have too much plot armour. Also, ultra strong bad guys for the protagonist to stand tall against and defeat while solving a most perturbatory mystery.
