General Comments: Its ambience of ritualistic murder, ancient myths, and the venerable college, it is a gothic thriller despite its contemporary setting – blending a psychological mystery with dark academia. At times the eerie atmosphere is not enough to overcome the sometimes-exasperating protagonist, and their questionable antics. The obsession with proving guilt drives the action, making for an intense read.

Favourite Quote: ‘After all, everyone’s entitled to be the hero of their own story. So I must be permitted to be the hero of mine. Even though I’m not. I’m the villain.’
