Exhalation by Ted Chiang

I had a long and eloquent review typed up, but kept on writing and rewriting each segment. So instead, I'll make this short and sweet: if you like science fiction, you might like this book. If you don't like science fiction, you might also like this book. I feel like there is a story in here for everyone, though I especially loved the novella "The Lifecycle of Software Objects". Chiang has a knack for writing stories that, summarized, don't seem all too special, but at their core they each have something special about them that sets them apart from the ocean of similar stories.
