Dave the Potter is a very special book. I am in awe of Laban Carrick Hill (for the text) and Bryan Collier (for the illustrations) but mostly I am in awe of Dave. I defy you to get past the page with Dave’s poem without getting a little teary eyed. Dave must have been an amazing person and his story makes perfect book to share with children.
