I was definitely expecting more "scifi space thriller" and less "domestic drama between NASA employees" but overall this was a fun read. There was definitely an interesting balance between NASA PR and the actual reality of the characters, though I will admit that the ending was a big miss for me (because the logistics don't line up and why does NASA not have any trained backup astronauts?)
I think if we made the big "discovery" earlier (or had more flashbacks to the mission earlier), I would have been more engaged in the slow spiral of Katherine's life falling apart. But as it stood, I just wanted to get back to the space stuff. Because the mission flashbacks were my favorite part and by far the most interesting.
