Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
5.0
I, like everyone else, have read the Da Vinci Code at some point, and have also seen Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon in Angels and Demons. Having thoroughly enjoyed both, I've decided to give this series a real go from the beginning—so here I am. And unsurprisingly, I immensely enjoyed this book. It was thrilling, fast-paced, packed with historical and art historical (a personal fav) knowledge, and just flat out fun to read. Plus I got to picture Ewan McGregor as the carmelengo, which really didn't hurt (thank you casting team). Part of me wished I hadn't already seen the movie, because the twists were just so shocking, but it was still so enjoyable and there were a few plot points that did diverge from the movie to keep me guessing a little bit. Overall, I'm excited to move onto the next.
