The Madrigal by Dian Day

5.0

What a fascinating read; I had no idea what the book was about when I received it from the publisher (I never read the back cover before I start a book). It's told by Frederick Madrigal, the seventh son of a woman who previously had 3 sets of twins. His father left after he was born. Gifted with a divine singing voice, he starts in a choir in his hometown, then gets a scholarship to attend St. Mary's Choir School in Toronto, so he leaves home at age 12. There are too many storylines going on to relate them all here, but there are secrets kept and other life issues to deal with including that of the loss of friendship with his best friend Alex.
Definitely worth a read!
