Komi Can't Communicate, Vol. 12 by Tomohito Oda

emotional funny lighthearted fast-paced

5.0

  • This is the first volume that gets us a closer look at one of Komi's teachers - called Omojiri! Her awkwardness and struggles with keeping up appearances with her job were super relatable. It was great to see someone else struggle with communication in their own way.
  • I also loved the beach episode that takes place during the summer holidays! And Komi making her own bucket list for the summer before her friends join in and add their own items - that was so cute 🥰
  • The volume ends with the Komi family getting a guest in the form of young Natsukido, a girl whose parents are often away on business. I related to Komi's uncertainty how to react to someone new living in your home and not knowing what to say to them 🙈 I often don't know how to interact with kids either, so I really felt her struggles! Especially as Natsukido is pretty aloof and distanced!
