The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
5.0
Holy. Fucking. Shitttt.
THAT WAS A WILD ASS RIDE WHAT THE FUCK
okay for starters, when i started this book, it felt so bland and boring and like who cares it's a girl with PTSD who hallucinates and hates her life BUT SHIT JUST OUGHT TO GET BETTER
what i really fucking loved is how the author ALWAYS had something in her pocket. EVERY chapter ended with something intriguing, shocking, mind fucking BLOWING JUST LIKE THAT LAST CHAPTER (I LET OUT A SCREAM WHEN I FOUND MYSELF READING THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS INSTEAD OF CHAPTER 60)
and while reading these surprises, you think "HOLY SHIT but what does this have anything to do with the main problem? WHATEVER THIS IS EXCITING AS FUCK."
It had action, GOOD romance, paranormal, horror, and mystery that will probably unravel in the last few pages of book 3. The writing was so damn good.
I have to admit tho, I really hated Noah in the beginning and honestly wanted to punch him in the throat. Even Mara. She pissed me off because I felt like she was just so annoying about everything, but honestly now, I just find myself sharing her instincts and feelings. There's only so much someone can handle before they become so tired, and this girl had enough. The events would deteriorate, then oh no the book is on fire and then daaaaaamn you didn't know you were in the midst of free-falling off a fucking cliff while reading the last two chapters. Did you know there's an active volcano just a few feet below you now? You're actually going to hell after you die in 3...2...1...
this book had me hyped!!! i CANNOT WAIT to finish the next two books.
