The God of Endings by Jacqueline Holland

4.5
Melancholia of the fatalistic, existential variety wrapped in a writing style, characters, and metaphors that keep drawing me away from reality and into this world. This gives 'favorite English teacher who buries their despair and loneliness to let you join them for tea during recess' when you were that Sylvia Plath kid in school.
Also some vampires.
It's not perfect, and I can see where it wouldn't work for everyone; but this is exactly how I take my tea.
