Justice Mission by Lynette Eason
4.0
Reviewed on my blog, Becky on Books, on 4/3/19.
There is a lot going on in the first book in the True Blue K-9 Unit series--a disappearance and a kidnapping (of different people!), a manhunt, a mysterious death, possible in-unit drama (jealousy/drama over a promotion), and oh, yeah--a romance!--that at times it feels a bit overwhelming. The characters are solid, though, the suspense is adequately suspenseful, and the romance slow moving but sweet.
My only complaint is with the end--there is an HEA for Sophie and Luke, but another big plot point (who IS the real bad guy here?) won't be resolved until future series book(s). The plus side is this is a multi-author series, so if you need to know whodunit, you might not have to wait too long to find out...
Rating: 4 stars / B
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
