Slow at the beginning, but it picks up at least 25% of the way in. I am glad there were queer people in the book, but there was a character that was provided with they/them pronouns. The main character apologizes to her friend that is seeing the non-binary character for using she/her, uses proper pronouns, and moves on—as they should. The author then uses she/her pronouns at least twice after that. Complete disregard? The rest of the book is great.
