When the bandwagon beckons, one must jump on!
Next Of Kin is the indie darling from Canadian author Hannah Bonam-Young, and I've seen praise for it all over Bookstagram. Now I know why!
This is not only the love story between Chloe and Warren. It's got substance, grit, spice, and emotion.
Chloe is asked by her estranged mother to take custody of her newborn baby sister. Warren has custody of his teenage brother. As those new to next-of-kin care, they are put together in a program to share housing and provide support.
The characters and dialogue feel realistic in this story, and I as a reader became so invested. There is some great rep and measured building of relationships.
Absolutely recommended and I can't wait to read the next in the series, Next To You.
