They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

adventurous challenging medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? No

1.5

  • No chemistry between characters, connection felt flat
  • Too many side characters, brought away from the main characters and I honestly didn't care about the side characters
  • Was expecting a good plot twist, or a good revelation on how they both die at the end, but the ending was just really lackluster honestly
  • Writing style is just.... terrible — I think it was trying to emulate how 18 year olds speak, but failed really badly
