This story does have triggers. I don’t shy away from those because  I like books that make me feel things. If Cheating (mostly off page and honestly not that serious) & pregnancy loss are triggers for you this is not a book for you. 

Pure our FMC is working though life post a very traumatic past, when her Bestfriend gets engaged and has a rushed wedding. Forcing her to be around her ex, that she still loves even though it ended badly, 

Joey is a NFL player whose life is football since his split with the love of his life went messy, but when he sees her again there’s no denying the love is still here. 

This book has a lot of ups and down. I enjoyed the story line and it made me FEEL things. I enjoyed that in a book, I recognized a lot of things I related to on a personal level and it upped the rating for me.

I feel they worked through their past for a real life, could actually happen HEA. A big part of second chances is learning from the past, acknowledging your wrong doings, and showing change. I think this book showed that.
