Dune by Frank Herbert

Imagine, if Lord of the Rings, was a science fiction book. Rich world, deep lore, memorable characters, kinda boring in some parts. But instead of being black and white, like Lotr, this was morally grey. Where, the moral, is that love will overcome fear, but that man is not inherently righteous, and seeks after power; or at least, that's one of many opposing ideologies contained therin.

This really is one of the most iconic, and influential Sci-fi books ever written, and it really is a perfect book, but it's not for everyone.
