It’s really hard to describe this book without any spoilers and even then, I’m not sure I could accurately explain what this book is about. It needs to be experienced rather than described.

I’ve never read a book that switched between first, second and third person perspective before, in fact I generally dislike second person altogether. But I enjoyed every moment.

I listened to the audiobook of this which I feel added to the atmosphere and theatrics of the tale. The narrator Joel de la Fuente did a fantastic job. There are a myriad of different characters and his voices were easily distinguishable and enjoyable to listen to. If you have the opportunity to listen to the audio I would heavily recommend.

If you love a sweeping epic fantasy, storytelling, folklore, complex and rich characters, then please give this a go. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
