A Prayer for the Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers
5.0
A worthy sequel to Psalm for the Wild-Built. Exploring the world and the colorful variety of settlements within alongside Sibling Dex and Mosscap was something I sorely missed in the first book, and thus made me love this one even more. While I am not a fan of Tor's recent focus on novellas over novels, I do have to say that these fit Chambers' current writing style rather well.
The philosophy and advice in Prayer is a lot less blunt than in it's predecessor, which allows the messages to resonate more (maybe this is just my end of semester exhaustion speaking). I hope Chambers continues to incorporate solarpunk elements into her writing in the future - they fit her optimistic and largely free of conflict stories incredibly well.
