Entwined: Essays on Polyamory and Creating Home by Alex Alberto

informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

What an entertaining and enlightening read! I’m a queer, monogamous reader who loves learning about gender, sexuality, and unconventional relationship models. I so appreciated Alberto’s willingness to share their evolving journey with polyamory, gender, and family. The chapters have such variety in content and structure, which makes for a quick read. At the same time, the book deepened my understanding of polyamory’s possibilities beyond the popular misconception of it being a practice filled with swinging and sex parties (no judgment intended toward those who indulge in “The Lifestyle”). I especially enjoyed the Q&As at the back of the book, where Alberto shares their unique perspectives on relationship challenges common to folx in all sorts of relationship models, including monogamy. I intend to do a full review of this one on my Substack in February.
