Queen of Deception by GM City, May Freighter, Cristal Designs

(Arc review)
So firstly the cover drew me in as it's so beautiful, then I read the blurb and was fascinated by this story, where a modern woman ends up in medieval times but in a fictional novel playing out a plot she remembered reading whilst trying to make changes so she and others can survive. It's a fascinating concept and I couldn't wait to read it.
The female MC Emilia is witty, clever and kicks ass, and her closest supporters are loyal and caring, and all have interesting back stories too.
More interesting characters are introduced throughout the story and it will be interesting to see how it develops.
This is a lovely fantasy with adventure, mystery and potential romances building, and it switches between various POV allowing interesting insights on the main characters.
This was a fun read, but be warned at around 80% of the way through I realised there was no way it could all be wrapped up by the end with so much going on with new allies, plots and mysteries, and as predicted it ends rather abruptly on a cliffhanger!
Good news though as there's another book coming soon - I can't wait to read more about Emilia, Thessian, Laurence in the next book Queen of Ashes.
I hope we get more insight on how she ended up in this new world, what happened to her in the previous one, and learn more about the mages, prophecies, missing criminal and new allies.
