You want to know what the book is about? Read the Goodreads summary. My review is not here for that. I'm here to tell you how much I loved this book. Page turner? HELL YES. Had me in my feelings? ABSOLUTELY! Made me wish the sequel was already out by the way it ended? Without a doubt.

I also love the symbolism the author weaves into the story about the challenges black people in this country have --and continue to -- face. Beautiful story. Stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it and went to bed with tears in my eyes.

Definitely will be reading again in the very near future!
