This is my go to comfort re-read and my #1 friends to lovers favorite book.

CE Ricci’s writing never fails to disappoint me. She is a phenomenal storyteller. The audiobook of this with Liam DiCosimo & Zachary Johnson is also 5/5 for me. Both narrators knocked it out of the park. In fact, this was the first MM audio book I bought back when it was first released.

This is a childhood friends-to-lovers story between Aspen & Keene. During their senior year of high school they play their version of truth or dare, called Don’t You Dare, where they are dared to kiss. Flash forward two years while they’re roommates in college and you find out that Keene is still thinking about that kiss and his view of his best friend Aspen, has changed. Keene is the easy going, friends with everyone baseball jock and his best friend Aspen is closed off and keeps everyone at arms length, except for Keene.

Aspen and Keene’s story is sweet, funny and they have my whole heart and live rent free in my head often. I loved these two characters so much. This friends to lovers romance was so sweet and spicy, with a small dose of angst. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a low angst friends to lovers story.
