Family of Liars by E. Lockhart
5.0
“Now that I am grown, I think don’t take no for an answer is a lesson we teach boys who would be better off learning that no means no.”
Trigger/Content warnings may be considered spoilers about certain themes or plot twists in the story
TW/CW: Infidelity; Murder; Substance abuse/addiction; Underage drinking; Drowning; Death of a child; Attempted but failed rape
Reading order suggestion: The first time you read the series, start with We Were Liars followed by Family of Liars as there are spoilers in Family of Liars for We Were Liars, any time after the first read, any order would work.
The Sinclairs have always been liars. I LOVE the parallels to We Were Liars however, the twist was more obvious to me in this one. I appreciate E. Lockhart’s writing style, and the fact she isn’t afraid to use a style that isn’t standard that she (probably) knows not everyone love, and some will even hate.
