Thus almost felt like two books to me, and the world building as a little off. The first half of the book is very character focused with a smidge of world building. Very atmospheric, and a total vibe. The second half of the book is very ploy focused, loads of world building and back story exposition. We lose some character building in the second half of the book, and the romance came out of left field for me. I almost want this to be a duology that does more world building in the first half and more character development in the second.
