hmmm idk how to feel
probably my favorite initial set-up, and favorite love interest out of all the emily henry i've read so far but my least favorite book of hers so far??

selling this book as a fake-dating romcom is kind of... a lie. the fake-dating isn't that important and it isn't funny to be a romcom. it has the same emotional, literary vibes that all emily henry romance books have, but i don't think it really worked in this one?? with a premise like this, i would have liked it to be more of a romcom with fun hijinks!!

i also think this would have benefitted from being dual-pov bc daphne didn't have that much of a personality ngl! miles though !!! A MAN !!!!!

this was enough of a fun time that it excited me to go pick up the other emily henry books that i haven't read yet. emily henry the only straight white cis woman that i trust with romance
