Never Been Kissed by Timothy Janovsky

I am so in love with this book... It has absolutely everything a queer film nerd could ever ask for!
The plot was so interesting and compelling, I found myself daydreaming about it even when I wasn't reading.
As main characters go, Wren really ticked every box. He was lovable, relatable and perfectly imperfect. I was hooked on his story from the very first comically awkward first page. I loved his journey of self discovery and the way he slowly grows to understand his identity, his dreams and his feelings for those around him. It sort of felt a bit like reading snippets of myself.
The supporting characters were all fantastic! Derick was a beautiful love interest, Avery and Mateo were everything a found/chosen family should be and Alice, Earl etc were just like the sweet sprinkles on top!
Just like The (Fake) Dating Game, this book draws you in with the promise of a sweet, rom-com style queer story, but delivers something far beyond that. I think used the word 'special' for Holden and Leo's story and that's certainly fitting for Wren and Derick's too.
