i loved this.
i don’t want to say it surprised me because this book is actually one of the reasons i love reading all kinds of genres i normally don’t automatically gravitate.

but it had everything i love on any book: a misunderstood and slightly strange character that had no idea how to fit in with other humans.

but not only that, the writing was very well done and i really enjoyed the plot and the slight mystery of trying to figure out what was going on.

i also loved that the humans in the book tried to make murderbot feel as if it was part of the group and their team and not just a robot to them.

the only thing i didn’t absolutely love was the ending.
mostly because i am disappointed since i would have loved to stay with the characters i grew to like.

but i am excited to see where this series is going!

also one of the best opening lines ever!

i coule have become a mass murderer after i hacked my governor module, but then i realized i could access the combined feed of entertainment channels carried in the company satellites. it had been well over 35000 hours or so since then, with still not much murdering, but probably, i don’t know, a little under 35000 hours of movies, serials, books, plays and music consumed. as a heartless killing machine, i was a terrible failure.

this entire section sets not only the tone this book is written in but also shows the character of murderbot exactly as it is throughout the entire book.

so if you don’t like that? don’t read the book.
if you enjoyed that? you will most likely love the book.

i highly recommend it!

it’s fun and easy to read, packed with action and adventure and a bit of fighting and narrated by a character who is just trying to be left in peace with its favorite entertainments!
