When I started this book, I really didn't expect to be so thrilled by the story and finish it in less than 24 hours.

The first thing that stand out are the similarities with Harry Potter : a magical universe, a chosen one, an enemy who threatens the stability of the wizarding world... At first, it bothered me a little but in the end you managed very quickly to move on and dive into a completely different story.

In this first volume, it starts directly with the characters' eighth and final school year. So there's a lot of recaps from the last seven years, which is a little frustrating because it feels like we've missed part of the story. I think another volume before this one would have been great.

It would also have allowed us to know a little more about the characters because they are very, very endearing ! I really liked their evolution and the chapters with alternating points of view which allow you to know what everyone thinks and feels. This makes the story even more interesting and the book even harder to put down.

The universe and its functioning are not particularly detailed so it's perfect if you don't want to think too much (but a little annoying otherwise). If I had to pick one thing that really bothered me it would be the names of the spells, they seemed very childish. But otherwise bonus point for the ennemies to lovers (best trope ever) !!

PS : After reading Fangirl, a few things about my opinion of Carry On changed. I therefore advise you to read Fangirl first to better understand Carry On.
