Abduction Seduction by D.J. Russo
Did not finish book. Stopped at 67%.
This book was recommended to me as a romance.
It’s not.
And that would have been fine. It’s not the author’s fault the book was recommended as a romance when the author’s note clearly says it’s erotica.
It has a super slow beginning that felt like the main was just spinning her wheels. That ended in a seriously jarring transition from a serious conversation to the four mains already in the process of getting naked in their hotel room. I was confused and annoyed. It legit felt like a porn transition where you go from setup to naked shenanigans immediately.
And honestly? I could have forgiven that. It’s erotica, not romance. The story isn’t the important bit. That would be the spice.
Except the spice? Big old MEH.
I don’t know if it was the writing style or what, but it was just. Disappointing.
I reached my limit with the shower scene, which by all rights should have been panty-meltingly hot and was just not.
I read a lot of spice. From missionary up to suspension and beyond. All dynamics from mixed gender polycules, reverse harems, duos, trios. Just all the combinations. I read a lot of creatures. Aliens, monsters, gods. I’ve read about fancy peens, oviposition, equipment that literally needs magic for the main to even take it. So when I say it wasn’t the aliens or the dynamic that turned me off, I mean it.
It wasn’t too freaky. It just wasn’t fun for me.
Maybe it’ll be your cup of tea. It definitely wasn’t mine.
