I normally do not like books with too much political manoeuvring but this book does it in such a way that it is really gripping and fills you with a sense of dread the whole time.
I found this book a big step up from book 1 and absolutely loved the horror elements of it that were introduced and look forward to more of this in book 3.
There are a lot of characters and place names and I did absolutely at times feel a bit lost between where places were or who people were if they had not been involved in the book for a while but it was not bad enough to take me out of the story and really more a reflection on my poor memory.
Overall I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would given I do not usually enjoy books like this - from what i have heard book 3 ramps up the horror elements which really appeals to me
