Weed Witch: The Essential Guide to Cannabis for Magic and Wellness by Sophie Saint Thomas

Okay, so. This book made me laugh, a lot. The problem is I laughed "at it", and almost never "with it". If you are looking for a precise examination, with significant and in-depth reflections on the implications of the use of Marijuana in magical practice, well, this is not the book for you. Apart from some almost completely personal considerations on the part of the author, there are nearly zero historical references on Cannabis and witchcraft and most of the book is lost in superficial chatter bordering on cringe (phrases like "[I] energetically understand when a d*ck needs to be sucked" made me fall out of my chair laughing but didn't give me much else). I approached this book with a clear idea in my mind: I wanted to know more about how the witches of the past and the witches of other cultures used (and use) Cannabis in their practice, I wanted to know the deeper meaning behind the of the utilization of this substance, the doors it could open and the perils to avoid, but instead I found a stoned friend (which is always appreciated!) who amicably told me how good it is to do magical stuff while high. It's a pity.
I also want to point out that I am a big fan of Sophie, I follow her on Instagram and I always appreciate her work and that's probably why I am so disappointed by this book.
