Bleeding Edge by Thomas Pynchon

1.0

Good Lord, did I despise this book. I have never read any Pynchon. I was at an airport, needed something to read, had maybe seen some buzz about this, grabbed it. About 50 pages in i was actively hating it. I continued actively to hate it. I only read the last 100 pages out of spite.

What's to like? I don't know NYC and don't know many New Yorkers. Maybe that's why I miss the point. Lame characters, a convoluted "plot" that never went anywhere, stilted dialogue (people talking to each other about the tragedy of "11 September"), contrived movie references, goofball names.

Bad, bad, bad, bad bad. Horrible. Is there any way for me to give zero stars?
