The Life of the Soul: The Wisdom of Julian of Norwich by
5.0
This incredibly slender volume provides selections from Julian's larger Showings and provides a readable and succinct look at Julian's non-traditional and refreshing thoughts on Christian theology and God. Published in 1996, this translation uses casual, contemporary language (e.g. "...all will be well, all will be well, and every manner of thing will be well," is now offered as "...and every kind of thing will be well.") For those looking for a quick-and-dirty intro to Julian, this is your book; those searching for something more poetic or formal will probably be happier with another translation.
