The Way of Kings, Part Two by Brandon Sanderson
5.0
10/10
Where to begin?
Part 1 was great. A real solid fantasy book with interesting characters (bar Shallan, queen of boring nonsense in part 1).
Part 2 is a goddamn masterpiece. I'm not joking. I think it's the best fantasy book I've read in a very long time, maybe the best fullstop. Shallan's story comes together and she becomes as fantastic a character as everyone else, after lagging behind. The bridgemen's storyline is so satisfyingly written and intertwined with the Highprinces' drama.
The worldbuilding is fascinating and those final chapters? My jaw dropped. Didn't see it coming, completely blindsided and yet it made sense. Can't wait to read the second book.
Just enough is answered to be satisfying but keeps you needing more.
