I adored this beautiful fable. This is my third read, and it still packs the same whimsy and wonder it did in both previous reads, even the first one, which I read in its original French, in my high school French class. This book is as strange as it is magical, sharing lessons on the sadness and loss of wonder of being a grown up, while also serving as a reminder to find wonder and magic in your every day. While I am sure nostalgia is aiding my adoration for this book, I think it’s a worthwhile read for anyone on the precipice of growing up, or anyone who is still absorbed by the wonders and magics of the world around them.
