Long Bright River by Liz Moore

Thank you Libro.fm, Riverhead Books, and PRH Audio for this audiobook.
I was a little worried going into this book because it was getting a lot of hype, but that hype is well deserved. I am realizing that because I love procedural TV shows I should read books that fit that vibe too, because they are totally up my alley. Mickey is a cop working a beat full of addicts, one of which is her own sister. The characters are dynamic and the relationships are messy, but everything was believable and rich with story and texture. At the end I kept speeding up the audio to find out the conclusion. If you like your stories with some grit as well as rich characters, this one's for you.
