This book is the breather we all need after the intensity of ACOMAF. It seriously was such a pleasant treat to read. The Night Court and the people of Velaris continue to rebuild their city and prepare to celebrate the upcoming Winter Solstice. Gift exchange, traditions, shopping, snowball fight, feast, and drinking, this book is such a cozy holiday vibe.

We get POV from Rhysand, Cassian,  Mor, and Nesta. We get to see Feyre finally embrace and evolve her purpose as an artist. We get to see a slice of Nesta's life and a glimpse into her state of being. We get to see Elain come out of her shell even more. We get to see how Tamlin is doing... On top of all that, we get a healthy sprinkle of smutiness throughout!

This installment may seem like a filler but we still get a decent amount of politics, progression in life after the war and training at the Illyrian camp. A few things said here and there that make you wonder. Definitely not one to skip if you are reading this series, imo.

Favorite Quotes:

• "You drove me out of my mind. All those months. I still don't quite believe I get to have this. Have you."

• "How do you keep creating, despite what you lost?"
"I have to. I have to create, or it was all for nothing. I have to create, or I will crumple up with despair and never leave my bed. I have to create because I have no other way of voicing this."

• "The females bring their jewelry. I bring my weapons."
"I know a few females in this house who might take offense to that."

• "And in our minds, down that bond, his magic erupted, his soul washing over mine, filling every crack and pit so that there was not one part of me that was not full of him, brimming with his dark, glorious essence and undimming love."
