4.5 stars -- No formal review, but some stream of consciousness thoughts:

Totally called who the letter writer was as soon as the character was introduced. Not sure if that was supposed to be hard to guess, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment.

Lily rode the line of teenager perfectly. She was realistic while still getting my empathy. She had these moments of typical teenage attitude and whatnot, but I still loved her. I appreciated that we got to see her grow throughout the book...like she and the letter writer were both very flawed, and I appreciated that it wasn't all on one person's side -- they both had dickish moments, and moments where their own personal worldviews were influencing how they saw the others actions.

The romance was pretty light, but still really solid and left me feeling fulfilled. There was a lot more just general Lily story.

I loved seeing her crazy family, and how it was adorable but you could see how when you're in the family, you can forget all the good stuff and just see the cons. It take seeing someone with an entirely different family life to put your own in perspective.

It's really hard to write a review and not give stuff away.

Ms. McManus was fantastic with the narration. I knew I liked her anyway, because I love one of her pseudonyms, and I know she might not be for everyone, but she's totally for me. I loved her different voices, I loved the dry humour and sass that she displayed with Lily...I loved that her sarcastic quips (especially with Isabelle) came across perfectly. She also gave the perfect amount of emotion to Lily, and I really felt for her.
