I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver
3.0
This is so odd because I feel as if this book has all the makings to be a five star read but I was just never invested while reading it. The main character, Ben, and I just didn’t click. I found them to be a bit annoying at times but also they were going through it so I’m going to let them slide. Nathan, the love interest, almost felt too perfect. I felt that he had no flaws and no problems. He never had an issue with how Ben treated him badly and ignored him and was always there for Ben when they weren’t there for him. I just found it to be unrealistic. I wanted more from the characterization from other people in the story besides Ben. They didn’t feel real they were just chess pieces needed to be moved around in order for the story to continue. This book is so important and reading about how Mason Deaver writing that they needed when they were younger warmed my heart. I’m so happy that this book was published but I have to just accept that it wasn’t the book for me.
