This is Not a Book About Benedict Cumberbatch by Tabitha Carvan
4.0
4 stars. read this the same weekend i went to a convention for the very things i fell in love with as a teenage girl and while i felt like the beginning of the book was an explanation on what fandom is to an outsider and the literal stages of grief some people (women) endure as they fall in love with something, the rest of the book struck such a chord with me. i was highlighting like a fiend. a rec for anyone who’s ever felt any kind of shame for being passionate about something and made to feel less than, especially in this stupid patriarchal society
