Cosmicomics by Italo Calvino
4.0
this book is absolutely and fascinatingly compelling in a way that could only be accomplished by a proficient literary genius. i cannot even begin to tell you how to classify this book; simply tackling the question of what its genre is seems to be a self-defeating pursuit that, even if answered, would lead you no closer to understanding this book.
whatever the case, cosmicomics has it all, but it’s mostly pretentious philosophical pandering to faux-intellectuals—and i mean that in the best possible way because that is a genre uniquely catered to me and my tastes. for some, this book might be over-the-top in how it tries to understand the world; but if you like your narratives overladen with signs and symbols and meaning, then this is the book for you.
