The story gets lumpier, and inevitably fracturing occurs; there are redeemable moments, but this book feels like the transition between the 2nd volume and a "something else" that's coming. The artwork is jarringly uneven, changing artists at the end, but wraps up with a satisfying character-driven story, which is nice and something we didn't get much of when these X-Men were young the first time around.
