I was super excited bc the FMC is half south asian but that was verrry lightly referenced (totally fine but I would have loved more). I think others have said it, I'm really tired of diversity still being blanketed by whiteness to be accepted. OFC that is NOT a direct critique of this book but just a general note.

That said, this book is very much like Icebreaker, though Icebreaker is apparently about 50 pages more, I don't remember it "reading" as long as this one.

I think there was a lot of repetition and I've personally outgrown sex scenes in my books, they just don't interest me so I was skipping those parts and when I didn't they read the same as the last. I think for the thesis drama we got a hint of it at the 45-50% mark and I think we could have just skipped like 8 chapters of filler then gotten to the climax.

I liked the book, but I think right now, the cutesty hockey storyline is super saturated which wouldn't be a bad thing if they were all vastly different but they all read pretty similar. Hell I would have given this 3.75 if Aidan was BIPOC just so we can have some more variety.
