This book is simply about PERIODS and to help start a conversation with your children about the inevitability of their first period. To help them understand that it is a normal process in one’s life as they go through puberty. This book is a great first step in the direction to open up conversations with young minds without enticing fear of the unknown or taboo topic. I like the simplicity of the book and illustrations that keep the topic at hand front and center without all the embellishments that usually accompany such books. I read this with my daughter who is on the precipice of her first period. She really enjoyed it and had follow up questions brought up in the book. This is not an in depth description of periods but instead a jumping off point for parents or caregivers.
